Western Mediterranean Cruise

Italy, French Riviera & Spain

Cruise through Mediterranean glory and legendary waters once sailed by the greatest explorers and conquerors in history.

Iberian Cruise
Explore the Spanish Mainland and the Balearics. Ports of call include:
  • Barcelona
A city of infinite variety, from the cobbled streets of the Barrio Gotico, the Gothic old town, to the modern seaport. Visit Gaudi's unique Church of the Holy Family, begun in 1882 and still being built or take the funicular to the highest peaks around Barcelona for views of the city.
  • Palma
There are many attractions in this beautiful city to interest visitors - the Cathedral, Beliver Castle and Almundiana Palace, sometime home to the Moorish kings.
  • Malaga
The massive fortress palace of The Alcazaba overlooks the town and is evidence of the long occupation by the Moors. Choose from a range of tours, including one to the Alhambra Palace at Granada.
  • Cadiz
Take a tour around the town and see the museums, cathedral and other landmarks or take a trip to Seville to visit the vast Gothic Cathedral, home to priceless treasures and the tomb of Christopher Columbus.
  • Gibraltar
The rock of Gibraltar stands 14,000 feet high and marks the end of the Mediterranean. Take a cable car to the top for panoramic views of Spain, Morocco and Gibraltar itself.

French Riviera and Italy
Cruise around the splendours of Italy and promenade along the French Riviera. Ports of call include:
  • Marseilles
France's oldest and liveliest city, founded 2,500 years ago by Greek colonists. Choose between a tour of the city, the islet of Chateau d'If, famous for The Count of Monte Christo by Alexander Dumas, or tour Marsielles and Avignon.
  • Villefranche for Monte Carlo, Nice, Cannes
The beautiful bay of Villefrance is right at the heart of the French riviera and within easy striking distance of Monte Carlo, Nice and Cannes. Away from the glamour of the coast you can visit Grasse and it's perfumeries of the Medieval charm of St. Paul-de-Venice. Monte Carlo's beautiful riviera is a fairy tale place, home to playboys, princes and high-rollers. Wander through the covered passageways of the old quarter or have a drink in the famous Hotel de Paris. Alternatively take a trip to the star-studded sights of Cannes or the splendour of Nice.
  • Savona Portofino
The sun drenched quays of Portofino are hard to reach by road, making this Italan port seem like a hidden treasure. Browse the shops or bask in a pavement café.
  • Naples
Several interesting tours are available in the city itself and to the fascinating places just outside; Pompeii, the preserved Roman city and breath-taking Sorrento.
  • Civitevechia (Rome)
The gateway to the ancient city of Rome. See the Fourm, the Pantheon, St. Peter's Basilica, the Sistine Chapel. The city is home to a lifetime of historical, architectural and spiritual sites.
  • Livorno for Pisa & Florence
Called by many "the most beautiful city in Italy", Florence was the birthplace of the Renaissance and the two outstanding museums house many masterpieces from the period, including Michelangelo's "David". Pisa is home to the world famous leaning tower, built in the 12th Century.
